Rider Responsibilities
1. The rider must mount the transponder correctly - do not place any metal near the transponder. It will not work on your handlebars. Cloth or tape (non metal) will not affect the transponder.
2. The rider MUST wait until the light is green in the tent. If the light does not turn green then the rider should yell "NO LIGHT" to the scoring crew. The rider MUST wait until the scoring crew gives him the "GO" before leaving. The crew will always shout the rider number for the backup book which is not an indication the computer read the transponder correctly.
Post race;
If a rider has an issue (knows his transponder did not read, etc.)
then have him see the scoring crew at the scoring tent after the
race.
Club Responsibilities
1. A minimum of two (2) people are required in the scoring
tent to write down the backup. If they help set up the tent the
crew can get instructions.
2. The sign people need to make absolutely, positively certain
that two riders do not have the same number. There are two good
ways. One - keep a log book at sign up that is divided up by class.
Write down the number of each rider as they sign up. Make sure
the number has not been issued when signing up the remaining riders
in the class. The book only has to have numbers. The remaining
information is entered into the computer.
The second way is to make a list of numbers that are highlighted
when the rider signs up. Like the voter sign off at the polls.
3. Please keep the Transponder money separate from other funds. This is the only method to keep track of the funds used for transponders.
Tent worker instructions:
Write down the number of every rider that goes through the tent
(in order). If the light does not turn green for the rider then
use a highlighter in the backup book to indicate the number was
missed by the system. If the workers have time then the number
may be manually entered into the computer (the computer screen
has a place for this).
Rider's Meeting;
Please note that every rider is responsible to wait for the green
light. If the light does not turn green then the rider must yell
to the scoring crew that the light did not turn green. The rider
may only leave when the crew tells him to "GO".
